Environmental Policy

We provide the education, leisure and public library sectors of services relating to interior design, manufacture, supply and installation of furnishings, library supplies, supply of sports, leisure and science equipment, including the supply, installation, maintenance and repair of design technology and engineering equipment.

We recognise our responsibility to protect and preserve the environment. In our interactions with the general public, customers, employees, regulators, and neighbours, we strive to reflect our commitment to improving environmental performance and respect the sustainability of our natural resources.

We will environmentally manage our activities to minimise any potential impact ‘so far as is reasonably practicable’. We will actively involve all of our employees and take the lead in promoting environmental best practice, and we commit to continual improvement as an organisation.

We are committed to:

  • Incorporating environmental responsibility into all business processes by planning environmental protection, reviewing and developing policy, setting targets and reviewing and auditing performance annually.
  • To reduce our demand for natural resources and energy, to improve efficiency and to increase reliance on greener and renewable energy sources.To continuously improve the sustainable management of our buildings, estates and transport reducing the emission of air pollutants and greenhouse gases.
  • Utilising the best available techniques to comply with the requirements of existing and new compliance obligations, and encouraging those working for, or on behalf of, WF Education to meet the same standards.
  • Implementing a systematic waste management programme to ensure responsible management of our wastes encouraging reuse and recycling to minimise disposal to landfills. We shall dispose of our wastes in strict compliance with legislation.
  • Setting objectives and targets that will be monitored and reviewed to drive continual improvement of the Environmental Management System and enhance environmental performance.
  • The development and maintenance of an open dialogue culture will include the communication of this environmental policy to our employees, suppliers, customers, sub-contractors and other interested parties.

To meet the commitments, we will:

 

  • Set specific, achievable, and measurable objectives as part of the continual improvement of our management system
  • Meet the requirements of ISO 14001:2015 and, where improvements are required we will aim to achieve within the shortest possible timescale.
  • Monitor the production and emissions of our activities to ensure they eliminated, effectively controlled or reduced to meet or exceed compliance obligations, to prevent pollution and protect the environment.
  • Audit and appraise regularly to ensure best practice
  • Review this policy if new techniques become available or if legislation changes that affects our understanding.
